The plot
In 1966, Mossad agent Rachel Singer arrives in East Berlin to meet with fellow agents David Peretz and Stefan Gold.

Their mission is to capture Nazi war criminal Dieter Vogel – infamously known as "The Surgeon of Birkenau" for his horrific pseudo-medical experiments on Jews during World War II – and bring him to Israel to face justice.

The suspense builds in and across two different time periods, with startling action and surprising revelations

What's right with it?
It hooks you in from the start, such a great story. There is a great scene at the beginning that you see with greater context later on which adds so much to the film

Helen Mirren is awesome as always

The supporting cast are mostly all great, apart from one expection which brings me onto the bad stuff

What’s wrong with it?
Sam Worthington just didn’t click with me as a character, maybe that’s just to do with his tragic past. How come all the films he is in he has a tragic past? To cover up bad acting?

The flashback scenes were awesome, just would have been nice to see some more Helen Mirren goings on inbetween

Best Scene?
The scenes with the porridge. They really define who the characters are

Best Quote?

*Discussing dinner*

Rachel: What is it?
David: It doesn’t have a name
Stephan: It’s shit

Bonus Trivia
Israeli papers reported that Helen Mirren was "immersing herself" in studies of the Hebrew language, Jewish history, and Holocaust writings, including the life of Simon Wiesenthal, while spending time in Israel in 2009 to film scenes in the movie

The American version is based on the 2007 Israeli movie of the same name (Ha-Hov or HaChov, in Hebrew)

Final Thoughts
The story had me hooked thanks to the great acting throughout, and Jessica Chastain is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous, maybe I just have a thing for redheads ^_^

And you can’t go wrong with Helen Mirren, and this just adds to the Uber goodness of the Dame with her speaking in a foreign accent with a cool scar

My Advice?
Like a good thriller/drama?
Watch it!
Like Helen Mirren?
Go Watch it NOW!!!
